Alongside scientific colleagues at Mason University, Dr. Barney Bishop recently isolated a substance in the blood of the Komodo dragon that appears to have powerful germ-killing abilities. Inspired by the discovery, they created a similar chemical in the lab and dubbed it DRGN-1, opening the door for new antibiotics inspired by the healing and defense properties of Komodo dragon blood.
